The District of Hudson’s Hope is embarking on an exciting journey to replace the existing Community Hall and Hudson’s Hope Public Library with a new and innovative Multi Use Gathering Centre (MUGC). This state-of-the-art facility aims to serve as a community hub that fosters engagement, learning, culture, tourism, health and wellness, and personal growth for all residents and visitors.

An OPEN HOUSE was held on June 3, 2025 to show our vision and location options for the new facility. The District would like to thank everyone who attended the open house for the MUGC last night.

We received a considerable amount of insightful feedback, and we are pleased to annouce that we will be updating the survey to incorporate some of the comments made during the event. Your input is essential in helping us shape the future of the MUGC, and we are committed to ensuring that your voices are heard.

For those who were unable to attend, we are pleased to inform you that our consultations will be recording a brief video summarizing the information shared at the open house. This video will be posted on our website next week, so please stay tuned for its release.

In the meantime, you can view the slides under documents on the right hand side of this webpage or view below.

A consultant team, led by Urban Arts Architecture, has been retained by the District of Hudson’s Hope to conduct a feasibility study for a new Multi-Use Gathering Centre in Hudson’s Hope.

The Feasibility Study will identify the community’s vision for the new centre and develop conceptual options of potential scenarios, which will be brought back for review by the District and the wider community. Based on a preferred scenario, a schematic design for the new facility will be prepared and cost estimates established.

The schematic design and cost estimates will form part of the background documents for an Assent Vote to help raise the necessary funds for completion.

    WHAT'S POSSIBLE

The new facility will include replacements for both the existing Community Hall and the Public Library. However, the Gathering Centre can be more than the simple sum of its parts.

How can the new Gathering Centre become a vibrant centre for the community?

How can it serve to catalyze and encourage growth?

What elements and services would be good to locate within the new facility?

The new Centre could be a “living room” for the community.

What features would help make it welcoming, inclusive and comfortable?

What kinds of gatherings and celebrations could occur here?
